Today enjoy a fantastic sightseeing tour of Montreal highlighting Jacques Cartier Square and McGill University plus enjoy views of Notre Dame Cathedral and St. Joseph’s Oratory. Your city tour concludes with a stop high atop Mount Royal from which the surrounding view is spectacular. Ascended by Jacques Cartier in 1535, Mount Royal is the jewel of Mount Royal Park. The afternoon is yours to explore the city’s famous underground shopping. This evening you will be treated to dinner in one of the restaurants for which this renowned city is famous, capping off a wonderfully memorable day.

Legendary Place Royale is steeped in history.  It was here that Samuel de Champlain chose to erect his Abitation, which served as a fort, storehouse, trading post, and residence when he arrived in 1608. It was the first permanent French settlement in North America. Place Royale is also home to Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, the oldest stone church in North America, built in 1688.

The Fortified Old City.  

Old Quebec City's fortifications are among its most famous landmarks, cradling a remarkably well-preserved sjice of colonial life.  This is North America's only remaining city with such a remparts, gates and bastions and walled section of town.  The Old Quebec, is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage.

Inside the walls, an area of less than one square mile is packed with cafés, restaurants, historic sites and souvenir shops, all presided over by the famous Chateau Frontenac, a 120-year-old 618 rooms hotel that sits high on Cap Diamant.


See for yourself with a visit to the Fortifications of Québec and the Citadel, the city's two main defensive works.  Moving from military history to religious history, take in the stunning Notre-Dame-de-Québec Basilica-Cathedral, the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, the Jesuits Chapel and St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church.  After stopping off at one of the city's many museums and interpretation centers, take a walking tour or a horse-drawn carriage ride to get a true feel for this unique historic district.
